This freelance project was for the family room of a new build that needed to multifunction as a place to cook, relax, dine and occasionally entertain.
Keeping to a clean, neutral colour palette was essential as there is so much activity going on, so I looked to scandinavian design in my research as this tends to be bright and minimal.
I used textures of leathers and woods to give some warmth, whilst the pop of calming blue from the sofa adds some subtle colour.
They are a well travelled family and wanted to display their photographs , so I suggested a gallery wall focused around a unique wooden world map which adds some fun.
As the family entertain occasionally it was important to include an extendible dining table. Positioned next to the picture shelving of cooking books and family photographs creates a talking point for table conversation.
To add a positive nature/eco touch to my design a planted herb wall added texture and convenience to cooking.
